The least expensive prostitutes in the world are the Petrapole people, who live on the border of Bangladesh. They charge as little as 10 rupees, which is the equivalent of $0.28.

Now I deserve quotes? Geez, Danny, I thought we were friends... Cry

I don't like calling people by their board names if I know their real names... but with you, I'm never sure how to spell your name so I stick with "Nukka" and everyone knows who I'm talking about. It's in quotations because I recognize that it's not actually your name.

It annoys me when you see fat guys doing weights, they're only going to look fatter, they're just pushing their layer of fat further out. Like Danny said, you need to lose some fat for definition, and these guys might be able to lift alot, but they just look round Sad

Maybe they are just lifting for strength and not necessarily for looks. I know a guy at my gym who was HUUUUGE about a year ago... now he's less huge, but he's about 270lbs of solid muscle and can probably lift a Mini Cooper over his head. I wouldn't assume that everyone who works out has the same goals that I do.

dear danny,

i am running my first morning 5k on saturday morning. i'm worried about being fueled for the race. i usually don't eat 2-4 hours prior to running. i definitely cut off all protein at 2 hours prior. my race is at 9am. should i wake up and have breakfast around 5am? i mean, that wouldn't be too bad for me considering since i've started training, i'm not partying or drinking. i just want to be properly fueled so i can do better than my last 5k and also, to do better overall.

thanks,

j

It's only a 5K, so there isn't any special routine that you should be doing, really.

Eat a normally-portioned dinner on Friday night that is high in carbohydrates. I'd keep it simple and have something like pasta with tomato sauce with unsweetened iced tea or water.

Make sure you take care of business in the bathroom before you leave home, you don't want any surprises once you start running. Before the race, only have a banana/apple with a little water. I'm a fan of PowerBar Performance Energy bars, too. You might think that you'd be low on energy without a full meal, but your body should have plenty of fuel on reserve from the pasta dinner.

Have your full breakfast after the race - the point of that is so that your body isn't weighed down by a full meal and you will be less likely to have stomach issues during the race.

Good Luck,

...

Run first. Yoga last.

Running has a tendency of increasing your energy levels. Yoga has a tendency of working you hard, then quietly soothing and cooling you down. It wouldn't make sense to wear yourself out, cool yourself down... then shock yourself out of that restful state for a run that will get the adrenaline going again.

As I stated above, it kinda defeats the purpose of yoga when you follow it up with rigorous activity, IMO. Especially if the activity is immediately following the cool down of a yoga session.

If Soccer and/or running take priority for you, I would suggest leaving the yoga for your off days... or at least make it so that the yoga is at the tail-end of your daily exercise activities.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't address your entire question... resting is just as important, if not more important than the actual exercise. You can follow up every day if you feel well enough to do so... but don't be afraid to take a day off if your body needs the break. I usually do 4 days on, 3 days off for the week.

Thanks for the input! That's kinda were I was landing on the issue, but as I typically live an unhealthy lifestyle I don't always trust my instincts... I bought a yoga DVD that is all stretching that I can do on my recovery days, cause even when I feel sore and crabby the stretches feel soooo good ^_^ (though of late I have been bad at keeping up with that even...)

on a side note it always seems like I can eat healthy or keep up with a good exercise regimen... but I have a hard time keeping up with both Undecided but the silver lining is that as I get used to doing both I am seeing some good cross over - for example last night after soccer i was hungry... so instead of eating a couple muffins I had already made, I wilted some fresh spinach over sauteed peppers and onions Smiley

Lol no worries I was just kidding.

Since you and everyone else on here have known me as Casey, that's how I would expect it to be spelled. The fancy-shmancy spelling is the gaelic version. Tongue

Ive taken to running in place/speed walking with a step while watching NCIS for an hour or Price is Right or w/e. Then I do some strength training. I really wish I had a treadmill tho, I dont like outside. Its cold and theres people there.

Being outdoors give you different terrain which helps your workout. Going in place while watching TV doesn't do much, though I really wish it did...

I know it doesnt do all that much but for now its all Im gonna do. I just got over weeks of being really sick on and off so my exercise has gotten really minor. Besides the fact that my meds make me come close to fainting if I try the circuit training I used to do =\
*shrug*
Unless we have the money for me to get to the doc in a couple weeks, I wont be on those pills anymore soon.

Okay well I'm not trying to belittle what you're saying or criticize you this is all just me reciting what I've learned from articles and books and whatnot but it can actually be GOOD for your body to work out when you're sick. Not like overdo it of course, but if you do work out while sick it gets your blood going and so your body is like a machine. Instead of having to be warmed up, it's in full gear, so it'll fight whatever you're dealing with even harder...maybe? Idk, just an idea.
